She's coming along rather nicely. England should give you a position in the Foreign Office as Paper Model Ambassador Extraordinaire of all thing British. I sometimes forget how my childhood (adult life too) was filled with so many British shows.
I hope this isn't too forward, but for your next model, would you consider a B.A.C. Lightning, that would be awesome. The Lightning always looked like a "real" jet, in the same genre of the F-86 Sabre, and other jets of that era. Something about the Lightning that just made it look lethal. |

Gary she's looking mighty fine your Paperness. I swear I didn't put Zathros up to it but as he's mentioned it an E.E Lightning would be mighty fine too GEC Avionics now BAE Systems has one as a gate guardian which much to my surprise has not appeared in pieces on Ebay!.
You definitely are keeping many a great British aeroplane alive in our memories as well as the great service you perform for our childhood TV Thanks again my friend.

The Belvedere is coming along well isn't she! As far as the Lightning you're quite right. As an American, I have been waiting for the opportunity of saying "quite right". I still am trying to learn English, even after these many years since my stay in Salford. You can't blame a bloke for trying. Do you know how the name "Belvedere" was chosen for this craft. The Helli is a corker. Thanks for not tellin' us to rack off, wait dammit, that's Australian!

Oh I noticed that when you first put it up Gary along with the file aadalek,I just didn't know if you were actually going to do one or if it was just a thought.
You know I don't like to pester you for things so I didn't ask I've sadly never seen a Belvedere in flight but it must of been a sight to remember. The oldest helicopter I remember flying in service was the Westland Whirlwind and I think that was more of a hack by then it was more the mighty Wessex in use then along with the dainty Wasp flying around the dockyard later of course the Lynx and Sea Kings came along. The displays they gave over the basins at the dockyard were some of the most exciting I've ever seen. The Wasp's land based sister the Scout was often buzzy about to the various barracks as well as Gazelles,Pumas, Army Lynx's and Chinooks. All gone now the dockyards closed. The last time I saw a Lightning in the air was at Manston just as they were being retired, the controllers at the Manston air display called one up on patrol and asked if he would drop in.I think the pilot wanted to make the most of it as he came in very low and very fast before sitting her on her tail and launching straight up and disappearing. He returned for few slower passes before returning to his base.

This is the closest I ever got to seeing a moving Belvedere. Not a high point for American entertainment.
