The pilot of the Kingston bridge crash was indeed killed. He was a local (to me) doctor (podiatrist, I think) and according to later reports, he had just purchased the plane and was flying it home. A number of his friends were waiting for him at a small private airport located on the west side of the Hudson river, right by the bridge. The report says he made a low altitude pass over the airport and then made an abrupt vertical climb. He seemed to lose fire, and the plane rolled over and plunged into river, covered by a foot of ice, just north of the bridge. A tragic story. According to wikipedia, there are only about a dozen Strikemaster's that are owned privately. Really a pretty airplane.

sounds like he was configured for a landing, his flaps were not set right and his speed was to low ,and since he was low level he could not recover from a stall. or he might have had a bird ingestion and engine shut down:(

Wow, you really bang these planes out, and do them "quite right" I would like to add. Wonderful!! I have always loved British styling.
