As far as I can see from the plans and pictures at Fort Drum and Fort Drum - Czech Fort Drum was designed using whatever was the equivalent of Pepakura at the time. The stucture was all but entirely faceted and any rounding off of the corners were wartime and postwar "modifications" mainly by American air and naval bombardment.

The Czech site also contains footage of the "cooking" of both Fort Hughes and Fort Drum Fort Drum 2.

I haven't been this excited about a model design in a long time. Eagerly watching your progress Gary.

I don't know what it is but there's something about Fort Drum so unique it fascinates me.
