Mike,
That has me rolling on the floor. Seems you have a perfect fix for Roberts HP problem. I have felt like doing that on several occasions. Ron..LOL |

I will only say my epsom CX3650 has worked very well for about five years and I gave up buying the genuine epsom ink after a year of spending a fortune on them and moved to the refills.. four years of refills and it still works so if they are telling me it makes them not work well they work for four years with the refill ones I can confirm. Even works well with windows 7 64 bit photo is not my espsom CX3650 shown mine looks way different for her age.

That was my recycling/stress relief program for many failed computer components for a long time. You wouldn't believe the damage a .58 cal musket ball will do to a monitor that's lost it's color resolution.
And .40 cal semi-auto fire works quit well for fixing printer jams. .22 bullets also work in a pinch, but you'll need at least 2 bricks to make sure all problems with the CPU are resolved. |

Good shooting looks like most of the rounds were in the black with a couple in the cyan. Jim

Epson, all the way, and get your ink from Inkjet Cartridges, Printer Ink Cartridges, Laser and Laser Toner, Refill Kits - LdProducts and stop paying ridiculous prices for ink, or as some of the members are doing here , a CISS system. My wife doesn't want a contraption like that hooked up but I see one coming my direction.
CISS = Continuous Ink System CIS CISS For EPSON C68 C88 C88+ CX3800 CX3810 CX4200 Inkjet works for a lot of other brands too. |

Mike, Lancer and Murphy,
It seems you guys have the HP printer problems well in hand with the added stress relief that your methods provide. Zathros, I took your advice a month or so ago on the LdProducts for my Epson Ink and am happy with them. The prices on the ink is a substantial saving. About the CISS system I bought one for the 1100 but found I could not or was unwilling to possibly damage the machine by removing the printer head cover to install the feed lines from the externally mounted ink reservoirs. Although the CISS systems work well on many machines on the Epson 1100 I would council against. Darwin who has an Epson 1100 also confirmed with me that he had the same problem but was able to use it on another Epson printer he had. Darwin also put me onto refillable Epson cartridges and replacement ink that Is being sold on EBay that will also work on the Epson printers. Hope these lessons learned are of use to anyone who aspires better printing and cost savings. Ron |

Over the years, I've had Epsons, Cannons, and HP printers. I keep coming back to Epson. As long as you take the precautions of leaving the printer power on and not gong more than two weeks between uses, clogging of the print heads aren't much of a problem. Right now I'm running a Workforce 1100 for large size paper and a Workforce 600 for the all-in-one stuff. I've been using refillable carts on both with little or no problems, and have a CIS for the 1100 that I've been working up the courage to install (still trying to figure out how to remove the cover for the cartridge tray without breaking the stupid thing). The only problem I've had is that one of the refillable ink cartridges plugged up...my fault most likely, since I'd gone about three weeks without using the thing. However, the print heads weren't clogged....figure that one out. All in all, I'm happier than a clam with the workforces....and using refillable ink has kept operating cost at a minimum.
As for the stress relief....you should see what a 12-gauge goose load does to an HP.

You know what, I also found that leaving the printer on seemed to make a great difference. I wasn't sure why and thought maybe I was imagining it. I am happy so one else offered up the same find. Epson's are easy to take apart, once you figure out to take out the screw that holds the plastic cover over the ribbon cable. They clean up well, if you clean the "printer mesh screen" with warm water, they work like new. |
