A question for the iPad-savvy modelers out there....
As computers go, I use my iPad almost exclusively these days. But I've got a question -- if I download a model from the Downloads section here, does it get saved somewhere in my iPad -- and if so, where? And how the heck do I delete it?
I'm currently getting messages telling me that I'm running out of storage space, and I'm wondering if my desire to look at downloads isn't part of the problem. I've already sent all my photos to Dropbox, but I can't for the life of me figure out if downloads get saved or where they would be saved to. Any insights/guidance/warnings/tips would be greatly appreciated..... David |

I'll see if I can search that way. Not sure I can, but there might be some way. I hope. The big thing that is eating up storage space, according to my Usage thingie, is the Photo Library, at 17 GB. I created a Dropbox account and uploaded all the photos to it, then deleted all my photos from the iPad. But the Photo Library still shows it is taking up 17 GB.
I've deleted every app I figure I can live without but in reality, the space they took up was really small compared to what Photos & Camera are taking up. |

Hate to ask what may be an obvious question to you but......can you clear cookies, history and cache?

You may have to connect to your computer, but tell it not to sync. Although I have an ipad, I am not too familiar with downloads of stuff....but there should be a method of using the ipad as a hard drive so you can explore the downloads and delete what you dont need.

The only way I found to fix this on my iPad was to
1. Open a DropBox account and clear files off your iPad on a regular schedule. 2. Connect to your PC/MAC and drag the entire folder that your ipad downloads are saved to, to your PC and get that stuff off your ipad. These folders are usually recognized by your PC or MAC almost as soon as you plug-in, and it's just a quick drag and drop to copy them onto your desktop or laptops hard drive. Best of luck with this. I remove my files from my iPad to my PC about twice a month just to keep it clean. SFX |

Um... Google it? I would look into file managers.

But my question is, where do the downloads go on my iPad? I'd move them or delete them, but I don't know where they go, so I can't go there to move them or delete them. I've searched everything I can think of, I've tried looking up answers on the Internet, and I'm just at wit's end trying to figure out where downloads from the PM website go on my computer -- if they go anywhere at all.

My bad, looks like iPads operate differently from my Android tablet (yeah, I should have known better ).
From this link: Where are downloads stored? It looks like the files are stored in whatever program is applicable, rather than in a specific central location. So... A little more Goggling ("remove files from ipad") brings us to: How do you delete files on an iPad via iTunes I hope these help (or at least point you in the right direction). [EDIT] Just found this page: How to Free Up Space on an iPhone or iPad

Thanks. I'll look those over. Were I back in the States, I'd just head to my friendly neighborhood Apple Store and ask one of the folks at the Genius Bar. There's no Genius Bar in Kuwait, so you guys have to fill in....
