I too am looking forward to seeing how this works coming from the perspective of a card modeler.
With my medical problem, this could extend my card building life for several more years.

I watch while holding my breath, keeping my fingers crossed.

adhesive on cutting mats.
I wash my cutting mats at the kitchen sink. Water plus a few drops of any kind of hand dish washing soap. Then let the mat dry. You can do some blotting off of the water with a paper towel but once you feel even a slight sticking stop blotting and let it air dry for the finish. Of course it does not matter on the backside where there is no adhesive, just finish drying it with a paper towel if you wish to do so. Buying wipes adds expense that is not needed unless you don't have a sink or bathtub around.

The water releases some of the paper fibers that pulled off the paper and stick to the mat. Those fibers are what creates the loss of adhesion so mostly its a matter of getting the fibers off. However some of the fibers will never come out of the adhesive and some of the adhesive will transfer to the back of your paper so eventually you will need to apply more adhesive. This is easy to do, just mask off the edges of the mat that typically don't have adhesive on them and apply a coat or two of light duty repositionable spray adhesive.

Another method of renewing the adhesive is to apply a coat of Aleene's Stick it Over and Over that has been thinned 50/50 with water. Here is a video on that.

A note on JoAnn Fabrics

I created an account there and immediately purchased. Had I created an account and waited I would have received a 20% off coupon in my email before my purchase (would have been nearly -$100) so create account then wait before buying. I am not complaining as I got the base unit and both 12x24 mats for less the the machine only price at the next cheapest outlet (Walmart - base machine $399) The coupon is good for one month online and in-store, regular and sale priced merchandise so I will visit my local store and purchase some extra blades.

Time to get ready for the arrival. I promise to put it through the paces. I've printed a variety of things to test different aspects of performance mostly dealing with scanner sensitivity and the recognition program built in. For thickness I have 65,67,100 lb stock and some metallic stock.

Unfortunately I do work a twelve hour day Mon-Wed on average but we lost a day last week due to weather so a 50-60 hr week this week is a definite possibility.

With that in mind I'll prep an area for the machine today and score some fold lines on some pages. If this baby performs as advertised I might even cut into one of my book kits....

Smile Evening#1

Opened her up and everything was packed well. Kudos to joann.com's shipping department.

My purchase is a ScanNCut CM250 and low and regular tack 12"x24" mats. The CM250 includes:
Low tack adhesive 12"x12" mat
Standard cut blade holder with installed blade
Standard mat 12"x12"
Deep cut blade holder with installed blade
Iron-on fabric contact sheet
High tack adhesive fabric support sheet
Pen holder
Color pen set
Erasable pen set
Spatula
Stylus
Accessory bag
AC adapter
Power cord
Quick start guide
67 page instruction manual
Basic Quilt guide
16 page color catalog showing all pre-installed cutting patterns

So I'm worn out. I'll read the quick start and doze off reading the section of the manual that covers scanning and cutting (my primary interest) Section 4 pgs 47-55. I'll pick this up again about 3AM while enjoying my first coffee of the new day.
