When you get the printer error/warning, and are asked if you want to "continue to print"
what happens if you choose YES?

That warning states "data from the PC is A4"
meaning it knows from the file info that the original page is A4

and "paper size in the Tray is different"
meaning, you have specified Letter paper as the output.
(I'm not aware there are sensors in the Tray that can tell the actual paper size?)

So, this comes back to my thinking, that you need to tell it A4 as the output
and put Letter paper in the tray.
But do this in the Brother Print Properties windows.
Don't worry about the program Print window...just APPLY and Print.

Other than problems with paper thicknesses going through the feed rollers
I am not aware of any sensing of paper weights/thicknesses that would interrupt printing.
At least, my Brother printer has no clue what paper weight I am using!

Mine either. I print 110lb from the tray with little or no problems. Sometimes the paper sticks together, but no problems other than that

I haven't seen that mentioned in the posts. Which doesn't mean it isn't there, I could have overlooked it.
Not quite sure what you mean by the paper rating.

Thanks to ALL of you for your assistance..

First off I did find out I was loading the paper the wrong way into the feed tray.. I was putting it in portrait instead of orientation.. never clicked that I wasnt comprehending what I was reading.. (doh)

Ok... so here is what Brother support had to say..
"If the card stock is greater than 58# it will not work through the manual feed."
which makes NO sense since I can print on 65#(176gsm), 80# & 100# paper thru the manual feed tray but not 110#(199gsm)[gsm's are from the labels on the reams]. (Now the 80 & 100[no gsms listed] cardstock is from "Stampin Up" my roommates hobby). I do NOT know the thickness of any of them. The 65# is Astrobrights, The 110# is Georgia-Pacific. To me the 65# is stiff like non-corrugated cardboard thickness where the 80# and 100# feel more like index card thickness.

They also state that in the Brother printer properties to set the papersize to the paper you are loading into the tray.
