Thanks for letting me know about this. I should maybe also make sure I can get a replacement printer in case mine dies in the near future.

Back around Thanksgiving, I thought it was Christmas rush, but when things didn't improve, I started digging into it

I can't do without a printer for three months possibly, so the salesman went through what they had and what they could get from the warehouse. I didn't want to spend $275 plus on a printer that is going to be replaced, so he pointed out, among others, this Epson. Discontinued, so the demo was available for sell on clearance without manuals, ink, etc. Played Let's Make a Deal and got the ink for half price (XL cartridges), and even adding the two-year service warranty, got it for less than $165. Ugliest, longest printer set-up I have ever gone through, but once I got paper to feed, it prints really nice, and I can stack cardstock in the paper tray and so far it feeds well.

Fingers are crossed, but I am cautiously optimistic
My old Epson WorkForce 630 which is similar to the one you just got and looks the same is excellent!!!!!! I am still using it close to 10 years now

I don't think I got hurt on it. I only had one Epson before (well, I got it for my son) and it was the loudest, whir, clank, thunk printer I've ever seen, with a tendency to try to pull multiple pages through the feed.

I am somewhat confident this one will improve my impression of the brand

BTW, my son says he got me the Brother printer at least 10 years ago, not eight

I've just found a Canon printer for £35. From what you are saying it could be cheaper to fly to the UK (covid permitting). Quite a deal - Buy a printer and have a free holiday!!! ;-))

Cheers
Mike
