Head to your local Goodwill store they very often have printers for under $20 with ink cartages. obviously check it out before you buy it. I picked up a large format HP printer for $15. The printer indicated that the 7 cartages were all nearly full.

I have a Canon MG2500 I bought 3 or 4 years ago. It prints 110lb cardstock with ease. I refill the cartridges and the only thing that annoys me is when I first power it up to print it moves the cartridges back and fourth to clean the heads, then sits and hums for a few seconds before printing. I tell people it thinks too much, but no problems with it.

Hello there. I almost always use 160 gm paper for modelling and have never had a problem with it in either printer. I havn't tried this with my current machine but the older one took 250 gm paper in it's stride. Hope this helps.

Go to Walmart, buy whatever HP printer they have on sale.
They usually have a Deskjet or something similar for no more than about $40-$50
It comes with test cartridges (enough for maybe a dozen photo prints).
Then go to amazon and buy some cheap inks (fast delivery)
(I could point you to a couple of good ink sellers).
Leave the printer in the apartment when your done!

A biker friend of mine once told me that bikes are divided in two: those who have already fallen and those who have yet to fall. Probably, we can say the same for paper modelers: those who have already cut themselves and those who have yet to cut themselves.
I'm really sorry for your accident, I hope you can heal soon.
A big hug!

I think that you meant to post this in Texman's thread.
