CISS Epson 1100 Health Check
Hi Darwin,
Did you ever get the CISS? Does the supplied ink have the same longevity as Epson Ink. Also how's the printer doing? +Gil |

I got the CISS and have it sitting in place alongside the printer, waiting to run out of cartridges before I do the final connection (and see if I can manage to get the supply tube ribbon not to choke the printer during full print head travel. I think I know what I did wrong the first attempt.) So far as longevity, I've been using refilled cartridges since the first set of carts ran out...should be the same kind of ink as with the CISS. I haven't noticed any significant age deterioration of the prints compared to the OEM ink. As for the printer itself, I love it...so much I bought a second one to put in storage against the day it dies of old age.

A Solid Endorsement
Thanks Darwin,
Buying a second printer for the "just in case' is about as solid endorsement as one can give..., Thanks! +Gil P.S. Now to go an order one, or maybe two..., Fry's has them at $99.00 |

Pigment or Dye?
Printer: Epson Workforce 1100
Question: Pigment or Dye ink? What's best for card models and is adequate for general use? Best regards, +Gil |

Epson Printers use Pigment Ink. I would advise you stick to that. That's what the head and nozzles are designed for. The link to the company I sent you, inkproducts.com, sources their ink from Epson's supplier in Massachusetts, which gets it from Dupont. They sell CISS units also.
Also, Pigment ink does not run when it gets wet, like dye inks do. It's more permanent. |
