New printer coming

I've finally had it with HP printers....so, I'm going back to Epson. A new Epson workforce 1100 is now in the mail. Has anyone in the group had any experience with this printer? I like that it has separate color ink carts, and that resonable-priced continuous ink systems are available on ebay...plus ability to handle paper size up to 13 by 19 inch.

I'd be interested in hearing about your experience with this printer once you have had it for a while.

I just tossed two epsons away. I let them go too long (months) without printing and the heads clogged up. Even using extreme measures such as boiling hot solvent and soaking the heads I could not get them unclogged.

Don't get me wrong, I love epson printers, just don't ever let them go too long without using them.

I'm looking at that too. It got higher resolution 5760 x 1440 dpi, my old Style 1280 5760 x 720 dpi. Price is good! $200 and free shipping..... If I just want to print card models on it, it will be it for me. But, as a artist. I need printer that run archival quality inks that will not fade in 90 ~100+ years. So when my 1280 kick the bucket. I'll be buying the Stylus 1400 or the R1900. Hopping by that time the 1100 will be on sale, and I'll get that just to print card models.

Goodduck, I just noticed that Officemax has the 1100 on sale for $149 and change. Their customer reviews all seem to be pretty positive for this model, at least for cardmodeling purposes.

Hmm, whats the problem with your (old) HP printer, just for future reference? I'd like to know, since I'm an HP printer user.
