B-24 repaints
Hi All;
I thought I'd start a thread on the B-24 repaints I am working on. I have 2 formation ships; Fearless Freddy, an overall orange color, and The Green Dragon, Nat metal colored with green and yellow stripes every where. And the PB4Y1 early that I started as well, and will start to work on later versions as I get these ones completed. I have also been correcting and adding in small missing details such as windows, lights, fuel filler caps and where needed the belly turret, nose turret, and tail fins that are 2 parts and more 3-d. Laters, Jeff |

The Yellow with Red polka-dots looks like "The Lil Gramper" that FG did.

Wow neat pics! I'll be it is the FG Gramper. Yes it is Marek's B-24 I'm repainting, and modding a bit. Chris liked some of the other Formation ships so when I can will most likey do the red and white striped one, and may be a polka dotted one too. Man my list is growing, LOL but I love doing them.

I have Fearless Freddy almost done being recolored, But need a pic or two of the tail so I can figure out where the S/N goes and what the tail codes look like, I wanted to do the later version of it, but can't find any color pics of the nose art. I have search the net and keep coming up with the same 3 pics, and they are of the nose mostly.

http://www.aviationmuseum.net/aircraft_of_the_446.htm I didn't find any other photos either, however, if you have not already...there is an email link to the 446th historian who I am sure would know the answers to your questions. http://www.446bg.com/index.html And then, I bet this book would come in handy for what you want to do on the repaints for assembly ships....though at $50 price tag....ouch http://www.kecay.com/product_info.php?products_id=28 Here is another book that may come in handy. http://www.controltowers.co.uk/Books...of_the_8th.htm One last resort is you can email the contributors of the photos and information for the shots on B24bestwebs. The email links are on the photo pages which you probably already came across as that shot you posted is one of them. http://www.b24bestweb.com/Pics-F-FEARLESS_FR-FEAS.htm |
