Downloads section: choosing a category

I'm looking to upload some plans I'm making for static sub-scale paper replicas of a few classic flying model rocket kits. Technically I guess that would go under the Toys and Automata category. That's where stomp rockets are already. That said, I'd think most of the people interested in such a thing would be looking in the Sci-Fi and Real Space category, no? And a couple of the replicas I have in mind are of sci-fi-style models. Should the uploads go there instead?

I would go for Real Space - they are rockets first, rather than things that are not a specific subject but primarily function as a toy.

Your first inclination is correct. It would go under Toys and Automata.

Two designs uploaded! Anything I can provide to complete the process? I noticed that the first one said "error = true" in the file upload fields, though I couldn't resolve it, while the second one apparently went through fine.

Thinking on it, these models indeed don't really act as toys, not the way that stomp rockets do nor any of the other items in the Toys and Automata category. They may be models of toys (if one considers model rockets to be toys), but they're fundamentally models, since they just sit on a shelf on display. I mean, one of my glider conversions of aircraft models could be considered more of a "toy" than these replica model rocket designs, since with a glider you actually do something with it, yet that is solidly in the Aviation category. Heck, some of the designs I'm planning on doing would go up on Sci-Fi without a second thought if they were sui generis rather than replicas of model rockets, since they'll be representative of sci-fi spaceships. For example, the second model I uploaded is of a fictional sounding rocket. Can you please move them to the Sci-Fi & Real Space category after all?

The "Greek Letter Sailing Ship" did not upload a kit with the listing. Try that one again.

If approved, they will still be in the toys and automata category.
