Dave,
In the first post of pictures, is the middle one of a church St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna? I was there 5 years ago and it looks an awful lot like it. |

Very nice, thanks for posting these! Is that Notre Dame in the 2nd set? What publisher?
Thanks! |

Yes, the middle one is Stephansdom, by Schreiber. A really detailed, beautiful model. One of the classics and very challenging but also very rewarding to build.
There's a fellow that posts on kartonbau.de, named John, from Ontario, who is amazingly skilled -his work is awesomely perfect - and his construction reports terrific. I'm pretty sure he did a construction report on that kit. The dark one with two spires is NOT a sooty version of Notre Dame; it's the Cologne Cathedral (Kolner Dom) by Schreiber. Designed by Thomas Pleiner. Very nice effect, and needs LOTS of careful work on all those flying buttresses. I just started Schreiber's Ulm Munster, and as my collection is expanding keep debating 'what next'? I've discovered Richard Vyskovsky's very detailed and fascinating Erkotyp models - can't wait to tackle that; it's a whole new level of craft. Cheers... Dave |
