I have it copied and built the copy. I am feel me not as a pirate.
But I would have felt as a criminal if I had cut the original.
I will not sell the original. When the time comes I will pass this museum.

I will also do it with other models. And I feel me free of any guilt.
I would not think of you as a pirate. I think your idea is great.

You are not a "Pirate"
You Purchased the Model.
You scanned and copied the model for your own personal use.
You are retaining the Original Model for your collection.
You will not sell the original now that you have copied it.
Makes perfect sense to me.

In this case, this is an historic piece.
A collectable item that is best kept in its original form.
I don't know if its worth 219euro, but its definitely a rare piece.
And with something this valuable, the copy is even more acceptable (in my opinion).

I think cutting that up would have been a crime. I also doubt that any copyright is applicable because of it's age. There are websites with scans of models that old that give the scans away. I do not think you have to worry about that at all. If you do find out it is no longer under copyright, you could do a high quality scan and make it available to the masses. The link below has an interesting German Supreme Court "practice" case they did about copyright law. If I read this right, you can do whatever you wish with this mode. Of course, I could be wrong, but in this case, I doubt it.

yes probably the copyright has expired on this model. But I would do it even with bought models are no longer in stores and are sold only expensive to Collector 's (for example Kranich not the reprints). As I said I do not have to sell the Orignial
