If it's built, fine, if it's digital or otherwise, NO. If you build a plastic model and kitbash it or paint it in different markings than the box shows, what you do with the model afterwards is your choice, as long as you don't reverse-engineer it and sell it. Digital cardmodels are a bit different, as most of them get printed more than once, but still, if you give the printed kit away without permission, or a version that you bought and repainted, you've damaged the designer's ability to be remunerated for the product he or she worked hard to produce. That's morally and ethically wrong and is as good as stealing.

Ryan

one thing to remedy that issue is to simply buy a new copy from the designer, if digital, then just don't download it again, that way you have given the designer what is just right AND you still have your copy to build

if preprinted, you throw one of the copies away as used and do NOT give it away

This has been discussed many times, but I think few minds are changed. The good will be good, the bad will be bad, and the in between mostly stay in between.

Hi,
I noticed this: it's unfortunate that only digital copies of the older kits exist nowadays, but rather than making an exception here and there for things like that, PM must just stick to their guns and not allow it here, again to protect the forum.
"I" have most of the original earlier paper kits in my collection, which I have since sold. It has been frustrating to me to look back at the years of collecting and the $'s spent (and they were excessive $) to get my collection together in the first place and then find the blasted things for free download on the internet, years later.
