FGMM [Aircraft] Fokker t2 1/100

Ok. My entry is going to be this one:

https://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models...Fokker-T2.html

After my last builds in small scale I'm going to try to build this one reduced from the 1/60 at 1/100.

I'm not gomidefilho ( Pericles) but I think it's going to be fun.

I remember seeing this model at FG. This is really an interesting subject.
Pioneers in aviation. That time period made for some interesting looking aircraft and interesting goals and methods to reach them.

I'm looking forward to seeing this build.

After finish my fokker ev/d.vii ( Seems I just make fokker models right now) I started this one.

The dimensions in the instructions sheet from FG is wrong, the rights one are here:

Fokker T-2 - Holcomb's Aerodrome

and the scale is plain wrong, if you print in the suggested WSAM scale you get a 1/73 scale not 1/60.

After some test I could print my model in my desired scale ( approximately ) but it's ok just one A4 page:

FGMM [Aircraft] Fokker t2 1/100-imgp5357.jpg

In the first try I don't pay attention and ended with a wrong shaped fuselage, just a millimeter of difference but enough to do a big difference in the shape. You've to be very careful to the place where you glue the upper part of the fuselage to the side part.

I a lot happier with the new one at right in the image below:

FGMM [Aircraft] Fokker t2 1/100-imgp5542.jpg

See you soon, I hope.

In the Cockpit book

Great subject. The cockpit is weird, with the pilot sitting right beside the engine. For a first-rate interior photo, see the 2007 Smithsonian book "In the Cockpit." It has wonderful cockpit photos of 50 Smithsonian aircraft, including the T2.

Anybody doing a model of one of these 50 aircraft could not find a better reference for cockpit detail. A partial list: Lockheed Vega, Piper J3, P-40, Corsair, P-38, P-47, B-26, Bf109, Hellcat, Do-335. XP-80, MIG-15, and MIG-21.

Best regards, and best of luck with the model.

Yale thanks for the data about the book. Order books from South America is expensive but I'm saving to order some books from Amazon, maybe I can include this one.

I've the idea to build one in bigger scale so this can be very useful.

I think Amazon, Borders, and Barnes and Noble sell new copies for $20 or $25 US -- expensive if you would use just the one photo. But they may direct you to a lower-priced, used copy from a smaller shop. And if you plan to build any of the other aircraft the book documents, the price may seem more acceptable.

Would a library help? It may be unlikely that your local library would have such a book, but could the local people get it for you from some larger library?

Just learned, too, that a sequel book is due out next month -- I presume with similar cockpit photos of another 50 airplanes.
