Thanks for the info. Just in case I have scanned the struts. Thanks again.. Bill

Making progress. Hope to finish red one this week. I glued a small block of styrofoam inside firewall to help hold prop shaft. The propeller is wood. Wheels on both models will be cut from modeling clay and printed hubs will be glued on. The hardest part to come is going to be top wing placement I suspect. Thanks for all the kind comments.....bill

Looks good from what I can see. I'm curious about making the wheels out of modeling clay. Can you elaborate on your technique, please?
I hope the wing placement is easier for you than it was for me. I never got one of these models right!

Actually it is very simple. I just roll a little of the clay out to the thickness that I want the wheel. then I use a bottle cap, or anything comparable to cut out the wheel. then the end of a sharpie cap , pen etc to indent the wheel portion from the tire. i will submit pictures shortly.

In this case I use a 3/4 in. piece of copper pipe to cut out the wheels and a marker to create the indention. This clay is pretty fragile. Sculpey is good. I will coat these with glue for strength, paint them and add the printed parts of the wheel that came with the model

Clever! Thanks for the tutorial.
Do you fire them before or after separating them?

That was my question. Or do you just dry them and coat them with glue? I like the idea making dimensional wheels, especially ones that add a little weight, but I'd be hesitant about water-based clay. Definitely want to hear more about this process!

Chris, the Sculpey needs to be "fired" or baked in a standard oven to make it hard. Very easy to work with - Sculpey III. Recently saw it used to make exhaust pipes during the ecardmodels model contest last year.

Yeah, the clay wheels is a very good alternative to card or wood wheels.

If you may, Bill, I also vote for a little bit more information about your process.
