And here's an overall update. Getting there, but still lots to do...namely, cockpit/interior, landing gear wells, props, spinners, jet engines, refueling gear etc. The first version will be the KB-50D. An RB-50 will be next, followed by the final straight B-50D version.

Update. Rebuilt the engines, added wingtips, and increased the number of segments in the fuselage. This started out as a 1/72nd scale kit, so I have had to rework it considerably in order to make it a good 32nd scale kit. The next step is to finish the vertical stabilizer, build the landing gear wells, design the cockpit and start unfolding! Won't be too long now before this baby is being printed!

I have no experience with these programs, and I am amazed at how you guys design these parts! having said that, I need to comment on your intake design. To me, the intakes do not look like the first photo you posted. they are a completely different shape. And its funny, because when you first posted the picture of the intakes and asked for input, I thought it was pretty simple because you can see the basic four panels that make up the intake. In my opinion they could be easily folded in paper to create a better looking intake. Just my opinion, maybe you thought of this and went another route? or maybe you didn't see what I see?...just wanted to offer some input.

The shape is more complex than can be seen in that photo. It has all sorts of odd curves that are very difficult to render in paper. It was simplified to accommodate the limitations of paper, as well as the limitations of Sketchup as a design tool. That being said, the intake is very close to the photos that I have. I may tweak it slightly, but I think it is very accurate as-is, given the aforementioned limitations.
Here are some additional screenshots that may clear things up a bit. |

please don't take my comments the wrong way...I would never dream to tell you how to do (what you are doing)...
maybe the inlet opening looks a little too tall? it might be my eyes, but if that opening was shorter (while still retaining the width) it might look better (to me). as I said, it might just be me! lol...my eyes are old. and my comments are only an attempt at "constructive" criticism not meant to offend in any way.

I think it looks better, more closely resembling the pics you showed.

yes definately an improvement!
if you can lengthen the first three rings to create a more gradual taper to the leading edge of the intake (like I have shown in the lower image) ...?? but if you were to leave it where it is now, it is still very close.
