B-50D Design Thread

Thought I would move this project over here, now that we have this nice new format. I have been working on this project for about seven months now, off and on, probably only about 20 hours worth of work in it so far, including research and having to start over once. Scale will be 1/48 or 1/32, haven't decided yet. My current preoccupation is the engines and the shape of the wings. They are giving me fits. The engines have a complex shape and are giving me trouble as I try to work out an effective way to turn it into a buildable model. The most troublesome part is the intake with it's odd curves...

The fuselage, on the other hand is a nice simple shape, nothing difficult about it. Took me about 45 min. total. So here is how the project stands at this point, with a lot of question marks about the shape of the wings.

If I recall, the wings and engines of the B-50 are the same as the wings and engines of the KC-97 right? If that's true, i'll snag you some pics tomorrow night while I'm at the museum. We have a KC-97 there.

That'd be fantastic! It would really help me to be able to have some more reference pics. Thanks!

No problem! I'll try to get them to you tomorrow. It may be a late night, I'm not sure.

Battery died six shots in. I'm going back out to the museum Saturday for a bit. I'll make sure the battery has some life to it :P

Excellent, I think I can now tackle those pesky engines and (hopefully) get them reasonably accurate. Thanks for your help!

Ok, thanks to Brett, I have finished with the engines and am moving on to correcting the wing. I discovered my original attempt was way off and so I have to rework it. Fortunately, that's pretty easy to do.
