I was thrilled to see John's models representing 450th Bomb Group "Cottontails". The 15th AF is under-represented as a modeling subject. I know of a "Liberty Belle" with sub-par nose art, which I must nonetheless recommend for sentimental reasons.
LIBERTY BELLE (V6)
"Liberty Belle" Memories
The lucky guy who was shot with the 20 mm shell was my grandpa.
The livery was a hybrid; it was the first bare-metal plane in the squadron, but I think still had the triangle and "4" in white roundels on the tail.

How about this design? It is a Consolidated B-24J "Liberator" of Joseph Pagani, pilot 43rd BG, 64th BS, 5th USAAF Clark Field, Luzon, Philippine Islands June 1944

Not to pump too much sunshine up my skirt, but I did a build thread on the one you saw on ecardmodels.....This might interest you:

B-24J "The Dragon and His Tail"

or this:

B-24 Diorama

Buy it and build it, post picts of your build, we'd all like to see some more builds.

Thanks,

That is an excellent site Ryan. He does a lot of work for Osprey publications. That was where I first saw “The Cat’s (Ass)”. What is interesting is when I first came across his profile of The Cat’s (Ass)” he had a Consolidated A6 turret in the nose. When I tracked down some photos (on B-24 Best Web) I saw it actually had the Emerson nose turret (which is what my model has). I see he has corrected his profile painting on his website.

So far it looks like “Booby Trap” is in the lead with two votes. Are there any other additions or votes for aircraft already mentioned? I must say “Booby Trap” would be fun to do with the Jolly Roger insignia and nice pin-up girl.

Getting back to nose turrets, I try to make these models as accurate as possible but I’m afraid I will be using some artistic license with aircraft such as “Tubarao” and (if I end up doing it) “Booby Trap” as these planes have the Consolidated turret and my model has the Emerson.

The Nationalist Chinese B-24M is up for sale at Ecardmodels.com. The next one will be a B-24J from the 466th Bomb Group, U.S. 8th Air Force. It should be finished in the next day or two. After that will be “The Cat’s (Ass).

I'll vote for "Booby Trap". I agree that the Pin-up art is nice and the Jolly Roger tail art is an extra bonus...........
