Thanks, Dave. This is all very good info that is entirely consistent with what I think I know about Mustangs, although (now that I have totally diverted this thread and I hope I don't hear the butterfly boat approaching), I was under the impression that the D was the Mk. IV and the K (D with a different propeller) was a Mk IVa.

I am prepared to remain silent in this thread from now on on any subject other than the Blue Angels SNJ.
