Splintered!

While I am working on the test builds of the UH-1Ns, I have started work on the next repaint. Another Mig-21.

All good stuff.

Another interesting scheme for the UH-1N is the white and light gray with red, white, and blue stripe scheme applied to the three UH-1Ns of the 475th Air Base Wing at Yokota Air Base, Japan, in 1980 and worn until the late 1980s, when the aircraft were repainted overall light gray.

The three aircraft, sometimes called "Orient Express" but usually referred to as "Dragon Flight," were 69-6639, 69-6645, and 69-6646. I logged over a hundred flights as a passenger in these aircraft between 1983 and 1990. I also logged a couple of flights in U.S. Marine Corps UH-1N 159199 (C/N 31675) of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (MHLA) 369 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Japan in December 1988, but I failed to document the color scheme of the USMC bird.

Got 'em all.

Still hoping someone will produce a repaint of the 475th Air Base Wing bird, which I think is awfully pretty.

In any event, your UH-1N repaints are terrific.

They all look real good Ray!

Any chance of you doing a UH-1N as one of the VIPSAM aircraft operated over DC?

Doesn't look to difficult. But haven't really considered that one.

Heritage Hawg

Debuting on 08 Feb, and as I have history with them,
I have started my next repaint, the A-10 in a P-40 AVG scheme.
