Our local nature center is now home to a Kestrel that was hit by a car. This could be a suitable gift to the staff for caring for him/her.

I haven't built any of your beautiful birds yet, Glen, but hope to do so soon.

I've never identified a kestral here in Carlisle (our usual raptors are sharpies, red-tails, Cooper's, and tvs), but used to see them over the dunes at Cape May, along with merlins (evenings at the beach near our rented cottage was known locally as the "Merlin Mainline" and I have a t-shirt to that effect.
