Thanks. It is on my wish list - it's just a matter of when and where I pick it up (or if Halinski puts out their version first). Since my last WHM build was their Schwalbe, it'd be a ways down my build list right now.

Dan put in some additional good points and I want to emphasize one... don't get any glue on the former outside the tube end until you are ready to put the next section on!! Any tiny bit will dry and leave a bump that will make your nice seam ugly. As Dan said, compress the joint from outside in so that excess glue gets pumped away from the seam.

Also, with these thick and laminated bulkheads, remember that you may need to sand them on an angle to conform with the surface that they will join to.

Those jagged tooth formers are a nice thing to get used to since they help a lot. You can depress the dangling tips just a little bit so that your next section will slide on smoothly. BTW, I usually dry fit the bulkhead in and then dry fit the next section onto the joint to make certain that I am happy with the seam and the fit. It gives you a chance to do a teeny trim adjustment before joining in order to hide the seam. Oh, you should also color the joiner before putting it on to anything. No reason to help anybody see any tiny seam by letting the white show through.

This is not a bad intro model since it doesn't have spinners and engines to build... mostly just a lot of cylinders glued together for fuselage and engines.

Thanks again guys, I've done the gear mostly, weighted down the nose with ball bearings when I put it together, hopefully heavy enough, on the p-38 I barely have enough wt to keep the nosewheel down. Looking forward to opportunity to work some more on this bird (Swallow)....

It's obviously time for the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch - this thread has wandered far afield and needs to be destroyed so we can "go back to the beginning".

Don't worry about him. Just show us pictures! This was the first plane I built where I applied a new principle of construction:
"build first all the parts that you hate building! Don't save them for last or you may never finish."

As a result I started by building the landing gear and then the tail assembly. And it was really nice to just plop the LG in when I was ready to finish up.

(Actually, it was Old troll who told me this was a worthwhile build!) In this case I molded the mid canopy first to be sure I would have one that would work when I got there. It is neat to me to see the plane on it's gear, hope to make some wheels shortly.
