1/26 Fleet (Fairchild) PT-26 Cornell
This is my first public review in years . I have in distant past done reviews on different paper modeling sites and been jumped-on for picking on the poor designers and builders.
The model I would like to review was designed by Ken Uhrig and is his 1/26 Fleet (Fairchild) PT-26 "Cornell". The model appears to be hand drawn. I am judging this by the unevenness of his lines and shape of the roundels. He could have, at least, used a compass and taken his time to carefully color in the insignia. I judge the quality of his efforts to be on par with earlier Maly Modelarz magazines offerings. Good for the time, but crude by todays standards. That said, the model is over priced at $7.00. In my opinion, as the model stands, the lines would have to be cleaned up to make a presentable display model. dP P.S. Please forgive any mistakes I might have made in my text......dP |

I was considering buying the kit. The pictures of it look awesome, so thanks for your review. Did you get a chance to build it? It may still be a gem once she's glued together. Thanks!
