Curtiss N-9H "Modelik 1:33"
WWI USN float plane
Size... A4 * Number of paper sheets with parts to cut out.. 5, * Number of construction pictures/diagrams... 3 * Difficulty level of the model in 1-5 scale (1-very simple, 5-very complicated): 3 Designer... Stanislaw Sliwinski.. Impressions.. Another nice kit from one of my favorite designers.. It's good to see an early U.S. subject for a change.. Graphics are first rate, and the light Navy Gray coloring looks pretty authentic IMO. Detailed cockpit & motor (I'm assuming it's a "Liberty" motor).. A lot of rigging on this, and there appears to be enough different diagrams showing it from different angles. Laser frames are a must for me, unless your into cutting out quite a few wing ribs. Float planes and flying boats are always at the the top of my favorites list, and this should build up into a good looking model. |

Wow, that is a lot of ribs! This build is probably beyond my capabilities, but it will be a beauty in your hands. Can't wait for the build thread.

I think Curtiss really picked up the ball and ran with airplane design. He is genuinely an Aviation Hero.

Lots of ribs is right, and I would be reluctant to start this without the laser set. Just shows how spoiled one becomes once you get used to using certain items.. Need to finish off some ongoing projects before I even think of starting this..

Should be a Wright-built Hisso, I think.
Will watch this one with interest. |

A very nice subject, the last one I built was a plastic 1/72 scale kit and I was pretty impressed by the overall look of the plane wishing for a larger scale, looks like that just happened.
Based on the Jenny design with longer wings and fuselage and a sea rudder of sorts. There is one of them in a museum some where over here in the states. I found the site that had a number of pictures including interior shots of the cockpit and engine photos when I was building up the 1/72 scale model. Looking forward to your build.

I'm just happy they got the markings right.

Holy smokes - there's significantly more wing ribs than for the Orlik Fokker Dr.I. I look forward to the build of this one

Wow, thatīs a real Biplane beauty...but it will be a long long road for me, to realise such a kit.:D
But if somebody would sacrifice himself for the big community.....:D Please, someone has to build that immediately. Greetings Stephan |

that kit looks awesome, i really wish stores would sell the kits along with the laser cut parts, the canopies and wheels if they are made, most stores in the us sell kits but they don't sell canopies or laser cut frames
