H. G. Wells' Little Wars Helion & Co.

Helion & Co. has a book with the text of a wargame written by H. G. Wells. It is called H G Wells' "Little Wars". The Helion book also includes 54mm scale soldiers, a canon model that shoots projectiles, and a Martian tripod model to reenact The War of the Worlds if you want.
HG Wells' Little Wars - Helion & Co.
The book is also available on Amazon.

Isn't it funny seeing the pictures of HG lying on the ground placing the soldiers? I don't have this particular book, so I didn't get the soldiers, etc

I have read and have had Well's Little Wars on my shelf for many years, but it is an earlier reprint without the soldiers, cannon, and Martian devices. It looks like the artwork is excellent. Looks like a suitable future gift for a wargamer friend.

Thanks for sharing this find, Doug.

Peter Dennis's work is impressive and covers a broad range of eras beginning with the Wars of the Roses, The English Civil War, the Napoleonic war and The American Civil War. Arms and Armor Press reprinted "Little Wars" in 1970 as first published by Frank Palmer in 1913. This printing contains all the original illustrations.
For those on the forum interested in further reading on war games, recommended is "The War Game" by Charles Grant, published by Adam & Charles Black Ltd, London 1971
