Re: Folkerts SK-3 "Jupiter" 1:50

Hello!
Thank you nothing!
I think that after Folkerts comes time to do something famous. Maybe A6M Zero.

I fixed the front and added rudder.
By the way I have a request to colleagues. If somebody has any materials (documentations) to Folkerst from books, albums etc., please help.
I'm looking for information on:
- interior of the cabin and its color.
- the exact colors of the image on the fuselage (with inscription "Jupiter")
- the color of the gear cavity
I`ll be very grateful for any help.

Best regards.

Re: Folkerts SK-3 "Jupiter" 1:50

Hello!
Thank you Chris! Now work goes really quickly but soon will slow down: unrolling, colouring in, test gluing ect. But I hope that model will be ready or for the end of July or at the beginning of the August.

Next part: wings.

Best regards.

Re: Folkerts SK-3 "Jupiter" 1:50

This is really looking good. I plan to add this one to my stack once it's available.

If you like to design these early racers...and I hope you do because I would like to see you do more of them...you might like to check out this book if you don't already know of it. http://www.amazon.com/Air-Racer-C-Me...dp/0933424019# "The Air Racer" by Charles Mendenhall is full of drawings with 1/2 fuselage cross-sections, airfoil sections, and other info perfect for the model builder/dsigner. Page 91 has the drawing for the SK-3 and SK-4. If you click on the book where it says "look inside" you can preview the Table of Contents and first few drawings to help see what this book is like.

Re: Folkerts SK-3 "Jupiter" 1:50

If you can find them
[i]Thompson Trophy Racers[i]by Roger Huntington and
[i]The Golden Age of Air Racing[i]by S.H.Schmid and Truman C. Weaver
are both excellent sources of photos and plans as well as very descriptive text about these wonderful aircraft. If I could ask-could you make a 1/33 scale version? 1/50 will be really tiny for this little bird.

Re: Folkerts SK-3 "Jupiter" 1:50

Hello!
wag: thank you very much for your info about this book. I`ll ask my friends, maybe somebody has it.
Obout 1:33 scale... hm.. I think about it, but first will be 1:50.

I made a few details of the gear.

Best regards.
