Hello!
I`d like show you my newest project. This time will be something from Golden Age of air races in USA from 30` last century: Folkerst SK-3 "Jupiter" from 1937.

I think that after Folkerts comes time to do something famous. Maybe A6M Zero.
In the model fixed the front and added rudder.
By the way I have a request to colleagues.
If somebody has any materials (documentations) to Folkerst from books, albums etc., please help.
I'm looking for information on:
- interior of the cabin and its color.
- the exact colors of the image on the fuselage (with inscription "Jupiter")
- the color of the gear cavity.
I`ll be very grateful for any help.

Not sure if you've seen this image or not, but it is an early Kodachrome shot of the aircraft. Might help if you haven't seen it before.

shrike: on internet isn`t many info about this plane. Well, it is necessary to design the model on the basis of what is had.

I have a reasonably large library (unreasonably large according to my kids) with quite a few air racing books, but no colour pictures of the SK-3.
I do have a set of 1930's aircraft colour chips, so we can make an educated guess from what was available at the time.

Interior of the landing gear doors was probably bare aluminium to save weight. Photos of the airplane before it was covered show all of the tubing in a light colour - probably silver or grey. Either one would be a common option.
The interior of the cockpit would show the backside of the fabric covering. This would have been aluminium silver bleeding through the cotton cloth.
So for all of the interior work, shades of grey would be authentic unless you want to print in silver.

I'll get out the colour chips and look at what was likely for 'Yellow Cream with Red' as described by Mendenhall.
Do you want raw scans, RBG, Hex or CYMK colours?

Hello!
Thank you shrike for your notices. I supposed interior of the landing gear doors could be bare aluminium or grey. On picture looks that interior was darker than fuselage. Can see also a little of inside of pilot`s cabine. I think it is in dark grey (I don`t suppose so the inside was the green colour like in military planes).

I`d scan, please.
