Marek Marathon - Hurricane Mk 1A (1:50)

Hello!

Having a brake from my B-737 design (and having my Mrs. on holiday) I decided to do Marek's Hurricane Mk 1A

I am always after airliners and transport planes, but decided to do my little tribute for those who fought in II World War.
I decided to do something nice, not complicated which I can finish (I hope?!) in a few days.

Here is the model as it comes from the printer (ecardmodels download) and first steps...

Looks like you've made a great start on this model. I remember building this kit. It was very well designed without any real issues. I was puzzled at first by the two-tone bottom wing colors.

Yes indeed, this model is well designed, so far I can mention only one small thing - please see the photo.
By the way, I think, this model would be nice even if enlarged to 1:33

One small improvement, I am adding 2x '9B' wing profiles to make myself life easier with putting the wing parts together.
As you can see it will be 1+2+1 for each wing section.
Just a little suggestion from myself.

Another small tip.
Before you start gluing together all tail parts, it is important to consider the position of no. '18-19' parts. Their proper position is not marked on the fuselage (?).
Nothing major, but it is important so your Hurricane's tail geometry will be OK.

Great kit from a great series, I have a few of the 'Classics'. For Curt, the two-tone under surface was for recognition purposes by the RAF. All fighter aircraft at the outbreak of WW2 were painted black and white on the underside for this purpose. This scheme was dropped after the fall of France and before the Battle of Britain. It was re-introduced in November 1940, with just the application of black to the port wing, again for recognition purposes. This scheme was phased out in August 1941, being replaced with overall medium sea grey.

Hello!

Just a quick one, I think it is a good idea to glue in 2 little pieces of cork into the central part of the wing if gear is going to be done on this one - that's a bit from my 'old school' things from old MM times
