Looking great so far, Don! I look forward to your construction observations on this one. And as always, your historical info gives great insight and depth to the build!

Ouch! Don, was anyone hurt in that crash? Your random parts arrangement resembles something the National Safety Board needs to investigate. But the random parts all look really fine...keep up the good work.

Thanks for the encouragement Fred, Barry, Dan, Glen, Orazio, Chris G and Chris W.
Ron: All my models unfortunately look like they have crashed. Yu-sama: I was lucky to be able to spend most of the weekend so I made unusually fast initial progress. Things will now slow down to my usual creeping pace again. Leif: The miniature wartime Bertil Almqvist “En svensk tiger” poster is a memento of my very close friend, Colonel (Ret) Jan Carlsson, with whom I served in Korea (he was with the Swedish contingent of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission 1984-85) and who gave me the little poster when Lil and I spent two weeks in Sweden with Jan and his wife, Marianne. Update: Progress continues slowly with completion of the main fuselage and my belated discovery of a mismatch between the final fuselage former and the vertical stabilizer former that resulted in a gap at the tail. I am learning from this build (as one always does) and hope to correct that problem on my next Shoki. I am finding gomidefilho’s 1/50 Spad 61 build thread to be helpful, as it is another 1/50 Marek model with a similar type of construction. Don |

Well, the repair facility seems to be doing a bang-up job getting the pieces together. Looking mighty fine!

Thanks guys. It's a little lumpy, but by the time I get to the third one, it should start to improve.
I'm back at the Military History Institute reading room, working on other tasks today, but hope that the Boose Hikōki Seizo Kabushiki Kaisha will be able to get a little more work done on the Demon Queller this evening. Don |

Don-sama,
Your shoki looks neat and it inspires me to place order for a 1/50 airplane model with Yu Hikoki Seizo Kabushiki kaisha ( how did you input a bar over the letter "o"?) |
