I'm glad to see you in the swim, Glen. I'm sure you will do a great job with this model. You and Lala are building some of the Russian fighters that I purchased from DeWayne a couple of years ago and still haven't built. Now, if someone will build one of the Yak-3s (which I would love to see as a repaint in North Korean markings).

It's also nice to see Cleopatter serving as a backdrop.

Thanks guys, the ship is still my primary model right now, just working on some side projects...In fact there has been some progress with Cleopatter pics soon. Yu what do you think of Lees'? I'm using Mondfeld alot still, but I think you need both.

Well a bit of progress on this one today, but forgot my scissors at home, so used these to cut out parts (with alot of magnification) Was able to assemble ok with usual methods, but ad libbed a bit, added red river silver to exhaust areas on sides, and preparing to scratch some type of cockpit.

This is nice Glen! That late-war gray color scheme sure was pretty!

I can see the minor mismatches that Chris picked up on. I think you were wise in your decisions as to which lines to line up and which ones to accept the mismatch for. I think all of the residual mismatches with be covered by later work. I tried to do the same with the Shoki (I am trusting that the wing center section and fillets will cover a multitude of sins). It looks like yours are from Marek -- mine were mostly from me!

Very nice work on that cowling. I approach the Shoki cowling with trepidation.

Thank you Don and Chris, really I can't complain much about the kit, the cowling was perfect, only the inset paper gave me trouble which was my own doing, because it crosses a seam, and is inset to be level with the surface. I did omit formers when perfectly round, and added my own method for doing the cowling, which was to glue small card strips around the foremost peice, poking out about 3mm perpendicular to the edge around the whole peice. Then form the next cowling ring, and use these little strips as guide for the edge of the next peice and edge glue. then repeat for the next ring. This method allows for near perfect alignment, without much fuss, and when glue dries is very solid. I used about ten strips for the first peice, and I didn't glue them all the way forward, as the fan disc glues in there. Sorry I took a picture but way overexposed, but the forward ring has little strips poking out of it all the way round.

Chris there is some mismatch on the part locations scoops, humps, ect, but not on the color scheme or body lines.
