I built one of these for marathon as well chris, alas I believe your build to be superior to mine. Although I am still pleased with finished product. The coulour scheme is also better on yours. Didn't do a build thread but am about to post pics of proggress from start to finish.

I am sorry for hearing about the wildfire. May the damage be the minimum.

Well, the fire's completely contained and we've cleaned up the ash here, except for a little still left in the pool.
But as a result of trying to build this one in a hotel room while watching TV to see if my house was burning, then packing it up and bringing it home stuffed in the car with everything else of value... well... it suffered some battle damage. :( After a fair amount of salvage work, which actually turned out better than I expected (though far from good), I decided not to trash it and to finish it off to see how bad it could be. It's not a great build and it shows, but the fact that it still looks something like a Pfalz (bits here and there, use your imagination), is a tribute to Marek's designing.

Now to finally get back to finishing my MM FW-189!!!

Very nice work, Chris, battle damage and all...although I am hard pressed to find any such damage. Glad to hear your house is safe. We had a bit of nervous time here last week when we had another dry electrical storm like the one that touched off the fire that burned within three miles of us last year. California livin', eh?

Cheers!

You said it, Chris. This was the third big fire in nine months for us and definitely the closest yet. The funny part was that we evacuated down the coast to Ventura. When my wife was on the phone assuring her relatives that we were fine, we were hit with a 4.2 earthquake. California, the fun never stops. This morning at 8:30, the shuttle landing presented us with a double sonic boom...wish they'd warned us on that one!

I can't find any problems with this one. I'm amazed you could build at all, much less this good with all of that going on, I'd be a bundle of nerves.
