SLS Flying Papermodel 1:96th scale update

Well the hurricane put a halt to the rolling of the main and srb tubes. I'll get you guys out more updates asap. Btw the engine mount will accept D & E engines. Also a estes B-60 tube will be incorporated into the guts of the main tube.

See you real soon ....The Duchess is calling...got cleanup honeydoos lol.

Ready To Eat Some Sky!

Attached are some pictures of the model before I flight test next weekend. The SRBs will have the Graphics re-scaled after the test. This will move the WORM up to its proper position. I also did not detail the skirts on the SRBs. I want to evaluate exhaust damage, (If any), from flight first first lol.

Thanks for watching and wish me luck!

SLS Flying Papermodel 1:96th scale update

Only damage was a srb that popped loose and temporary flight fin cracked when landing on the hard gravel in a parking lot. Flying should be on a E12-4 instead of E12-6 to give some more chute time. Gonna add another chute too for more energy abatement. Well I say she works great. Approx 800ft altitude and full chute deployment with minor landing damage. She is certified for flight IMHO.

Video soon

What are the future plans for this project?
Are you going to offer it as a kit?
Will you do a build thread here?
What scale is it?
What tube sizes were used?
How much weight did you have to add to get a stable flight?
Where was the CP located?

It looks good, glad you got a good flight.
What I like about it is a lot of detail without having to use paint.
Do you think you might try to convert your Saturn 1bs models for flight?

As mods for the AXM kit.
Will you do a build thread here?

Ill put up the video once edited.
What scale is it?
Tad smaller than 1:96th., (I'll calc it once I get a chance).

What tube sizes were used?
BT-80 and BT-50

How much weight did you have to add to get a stable flight?
2oz to nose.

Where was the CP located?
5" from the rear...CG was 2" ahead of it.

Yes very soon!

I'm gonna reinforce the SRB mounts with basswood and add another 24" chute to the booster section. Next flight in a few days. Update after that one too.

Thanks, for the answers.
I know this is off the subject, but have you ever thought about designing a paper model of the Disney Nautilus with all the rivets and making it somewhere in the 1/60 scale size?

I'm sure this would be a hit.
