I forget how long it took, but I do remember my eyes getting a workout. Thank goodness for magnifiers and small needle nose pliers.
Rick, yeah go ahead and move them. I was trolling the site to find those threads and figured it would be good to link to them in this new section since it is a good place to consolidate the stuff about those Metal Earth models.

building my new workspace
This is related to paper modeling in that I am creating a new artist live/work loft space inside my vintage 18 foot long fiberglass motorhome.
I took out all the old cabinetry, did some additional reinforcing on the shell of this fiberglass motorhome to add in blocking support for new cabinets. Moved the refrigerator to a different location and that allowed me to put in a 6 foot long workbench. I have a long ways to go on the remodel but at least I now have a new place that I can work in while the remodeling is ongoing this summer. Now I have my new workbench top and tall storage cabinet with drawer storage in position. The power miter saw is on the bench because I will be using it for making the new cabinets for the next couple of moths. The top shelf of the storage cabinet will hold my printer when its not in use. I am also building in flat storage areas for paper. My paper cutting machine will also have its own storage space and place it sits while in use. I supplement my retirement income with creating pre-cut paper model kits. Therefore with this new workshop scheme I can roam around as many retired persons like to do and still generate income from the paper models and other types of models I enjoy making. I love having those nice big windows to look out of while I work and I can change my view now and again if I desire to do so. Last edited by kcorbin; 03-13-2015 at 06:51 PM. |

Good for you! I think you've hit on the ideal arrangement that some folks dream of, only you are bringing yours to fruition. Again, good for you!!
