The train has stopped at the station... But I don't forget it !

This a part of a new project (may be important, may be not, I will see...), just a small tug boat. As you can see it is a very simple model (slightly simpler than the magnificient tugs built by Zé Reis and Tim )

I don't know if it is a mini for this contest because it doesn't exist in a bigger scale. I have created it with a bigger boat for a diorama.

Hi Pat:
You don't mention the size but i guess they're diminutive.
The style reminds me the 30s-50s travel posters. how about a small roundel as a base? a beautiful, quite blue sea promising a pleasant journey far away.

Carlos, I was sure that you would mention the 30-50s travel posters, because I know that you have a good culture in arts and design, and a nice sensibility too.

You're right, I was inspired by those posters.

But I don't think I will make a rounded base, because I think this papermodel not as a papermodel, but more like a real illustration. At the end, I will take a photography of the model and my real goal is this photography.

Well, I not sure that this picture is in the good thread now...

But, this the direction where I go with my small boat : an illustration for un book project about learning letters for children (in french we call that "Abécédaire", from Abcd). The book is only a project for now, but who knows...

I have to work again on this concept and picture... But all is in paper, except the text (I try the text in papermodel but it is not good).

Hi Pat.
It works lovely your concept.
I learned to read with an abecedário (abecedaire).
Looking at the image, it came to my mind a pop-up, but probably that might be too distracting...
This setting is beautiful

This will be my last micro model : 7 cm long
May be someone will recognize this boat...
I have to finish the diorama : the boat at the middle of icebergs.
(of course I have to finish the train too...)
