I made them from sisal. Not the best choice but until now I couldn't find any thead that matches 1:1250.

It's a lovely model.
How about using human hair for the rigging? Geofrey Heighway (Micromodels) used to recommend this material for rigging his miniature ships. That was in the 1950s. Grey hair for steel cables perhaps, auburn for running ropes and black for the standing rigging and ratlines. You would need some helpful donors!!! |
