some little doodads...
the props and such are pretty straight forward. One of the other misfit parts was this airscoops circular center. I had to cut off the circle and punch out a bigger one and trim it to size, almost done......

Finished at last!!!
Well these are the best of the finished pics for my Maly Aviation entry. The kit went together somewhat OK. The cockpit fuselage fit was good, the fwd engine cowling rings needed some significant adjustment. The tail and rudder fit superb. The as printed cockpit details were very plain and cried out for detail. The wings were probably the worst problem with this kit. Somehow building the main spar into the fiselage was not a great idea, and the extension from root to tip of wing needs major re-engineering. As this was the only game in town for a Devastator, be prepared to work! I like the interwar naval aircraft, the buccaneers, buffalo, the F3Fs the vindicators, all cool, but sadly obsolete by WW2.

Nice job CMDRTED by looking you wouldn't know it's as early a kit as it is, I think I know who designed this one...(Hellcat memories)

Again...GREAT JOB!!
I did not realize till you said it that there are not too many of the interwar period naval aircraft. One of my favorites is the Boeing F4B....can't find one of those. I understand Fiddlers Green will put one out...at some point. |

Great job on this one. It's barely recognizable as the MM kit. Your mods really elevate the finished product. Congratulations!

Any chance of getting a hold of that lovely cockpit repaint?
![]() You mentioned that the outer and inner wing chords did not match. This is actually accurate. The fairing makes this less noticeable. ![]() |

Thankyou one and all. Romanator the outer wing leading edge to trailing edge is supposed to be smaller but the thickness is supposed to be closer than what I did. That's why I made the little fairings. It isn't that obvious topside, it's the underwing differance that was way off. As for the cockpit the only thing of the original that I used was the dimensions, so if the court then rules I can pass it along. There isn't a bunch of instructions, none actually but it is pretty straightforward, I think!
