Unit scales...
This was discussed in the general area but I want it easily found...
I think that the game must have 3 scales to work. (see image.) I have changed these just a bit from the original post by ronin Deep space combat. These ships cannot enter atmosphere and are easy target to the big ground batteries. 1/2000 scale. Paper models with maximum size of ships of 30 cm for largest battleships/carriers, 10 cm for smallest frigates. Squadrons of fighters cubes of about 5 cm. Orbital Assault. Drop ships, satellites and fighters. 1/100 scale. Paper models with a maximum size of 30 cm for freighters, 20 cm for dropships, 10 cm for fighters. Ground Assault. Eerything in 28/30 mm. Tanks in 1/50 (?). |

Fighter cubes... Could we also provide a version with individual fighters?

Sure. The fighter squadrons will be represented in the Orbital Assault game by fighter units.

could the fighter in the orbital assault game do double duty as the squadron representation in the deep space battle? No reason it cant really.... would be pretty dang close to the same size!

1/2000 in one scale and 1/100 in the other. The fighter would be bigger than the capital ships. A bit... scary, Chris.

hmmm yeah - looking back at the scales suggest above they would be about twice as big as it should be. But what I mean is it would represent a whole squadron of fighters, not just one fighter.
I suggested the fighter squadron cube be about 5cm. The fighter in the orbital game would be about 10 cm. If we made it at 1/2 size it would be about the same size as the squadron cube to use as a representation. I know I would rather play with that representing a squadron than a cube with pics of little fighters on it. But we can provide both options. Chris |

I prefer the cube to play or tiny fighters in a base, but if we can have both, I'll be happy with it.
