That one's the beta. No coloring yet. It's just to make sure the ideas I had in Rhino actually work on paper. (Had to add an internal support for the wing center section)

Cal Fire SeaMaster

Hiya ll.
UHmm I just finished my Cal Fire color Scheme SeaMaster, It's nickname is 'the flame MACHer', yes a play on the fact it's a Mach2+ aircraft and Fire Tanker.

Uhm, it could only reach Mach 1 in a shallow dive (and even then barely). It did have a very, very high cruising speed though at high altitudes.

I'm not so sure the Coast Guard wouldn't have used it, they did operate marlins for a bit I've read, and the ability to reach the scene of a rescue at high speed would have been a DEFINATE plus! Certainly would get there faster than a chopper, an Albatross, or a cutter!

I'm gonna do a what if... somebody in the higher ups put life ahead of budget and decided that getting rescuers to the scene ASAP was more important than getting them there cheaper.

Here's the line up: Standard sea blue over white US Navy, and US Coast guard. Calfire markings are too similar to the US Coast guard version.
