Can you get me shots of everything in the experimental hanger? I've been wanting to design models of the X-3 and Tacit Blue, but haven't been able to grasp the shapes yet. And last time I was in Dayton, the base was on lockdown, so that hanger as off limits.

Aaron,
Also talk to DJStrato, or Dale on Facebook, he works on Wright-Pat, and goes to the museum quite frequently

Sure, I'm guessing you're talking about the Fourth hanger they're building, right? With the XB-70 and all of that?

Wherever it is they're keeping the X-Planes.

Hey Aaron, here's a shot of the markings on the 71 at Evergreen. Don't know if these
will help you.

As everybody probably knows, I've been looking for a way to design a wing pivot mechanism for such planes as the F-14, F-111, B-1, Tu-160, etc...
Well, as usually happens, inspiration struck last night at 3am, when I should have been asleep. Early morning doodle Parts cut out Inside assembly Buttoned up Test run This is just a generic proof of concept model, but since it works, I should now be able to design swing-wing airplanes using the same principle. |

Great idea and easier to build than a geared mechanism.

That's a very clever idea! I wonder why I never thought of that.
