Aaron had computer (HP touch screen laptop) complaints on 10/29/16 (Post 5062) and got
it fixed on 11-3-16 (Post 5082) and had been continuing until it broke down (Post 5187).
So let's wait and see how he prices things out.

Laptops and I have a mutual hatred.

Good news is, the local big box electronics store had a sale on desktop pc's, so I was able to pick one up for $90. Since it has a HDMI Port, I can hook it up to an extra flatscreen TV trat nobody uses (32 inch monitor anybody?).

Bad news is, I need to redownload all the programs I've been using. Including finding Rhino again.

I'm hoping I can save the hard drive from my laptop so I don't have to start modelling from scratch.

Maybe don't hammer laptop on desk when reading posts from us impatient admirers .

Trust your re-computering works well and in timely fashion. Keep up the wonderful work.

With appreciation,
John

Depending on how your laptop bit the dust, you may be able to get the data off the hard drive.

If it does power up and you can hear the hard drive starting up, go buy yourself or borrow one of these hard drive docks: https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-S...MDQXVC6PEQPRWN

Then all you would do is take the drive out of the laptop, insert into the dock and connect the dock by USB to the desktop to remove all the data you need. If the drive is still good, you can instead also buy yourself a hard drive enclosure to make that internal hard drive an external hard drive. Take the data off the drive, format the drive and then use that drive as data back up.

Got everything hooked up, downloaded and transferred over, so I thought I'd throw something together quick to test it out.

How about an F94 Starfire? Someone has been searching for it.

I lost the pictures I took of that one. Hopefully I can find more on the internet.
