Rebuilding all the model pages for my site, and searching for pictures of the aircraft the models are based on has inspired me to do some repaints of older models. I've been working on them between website sessions (I can only get about 10 pages built before the site starts freezing and crashes.)

There was a river patrol boat from Vietnam era with "in progress" under it-it's gone now.
Failed project or will it resurface some day? |

Failed Project, but I might get back to it if I can find enough info. It didn't survive the last hard drive crash.

Once I saw the first picture of the Xwing, it came back to me, you are correct, I should have recognized the shape sooner

Slowly. I paused everything while I get my site back up. I gotta hurry though. The going rumor is that American Airlines is retiring their 757's sometime next year, and replacing them with A330's.

Or actually? I feel like it would be an odd move for AA to retire their 757s this soon...

Most of the 757's I've seen here were built in the 90's.
It could just be that just the ones here are being sent elsewhere, and A330's brought in. Most of the American Airlines 757's used here are for nonstop flights to Hawaii, with occasional trips to within the continental US based on need. But the 757's here are mostly hanger queens. Seems like every day I see 2 or 3 757's being towed to the maintenance hanger, and when I left work tonight, there were 6 sitting around the hanger. |
