Could also be bringing Australian Personnel to the States and dropping them off at the terminal.

We've had Qantas A380s in here before, just sayin'. I might have even be able to fuel the A380.

I'm not trying to be political, so don't take this that way.

In commemoration of the passing of George H. W. Bush, who was the last President of the US to be a war hero, and the last President that I can remember actually liking to listen to, as well as liking him personality wise, I'm working on a repaint of my TBM Avenger into one of the ones he flew in WWII. My hope is to have it ready by this Wednesday, so I can offer it as a freebie for the national day of mourning.

I think it's a great and appropriate gesture, Murph.

In my view, there is nothing political about honoring a war hero president with a suitable and relevant paper model.

I was just asked a question from a researcher at 1000aircraftphotos.com regarding the XP-81. The Merlin-powered version had 2 "protruberances" under the wings, that for some reason, nobody knows what they were for. He specifically said the description on their site is an assumption and possibly wrong. Does anybody here know what they were for?

Ok. I found a couple of pics of this. One of which is on 1000aircraftphotos site.

They are to far outboard to be shell collectors as the caption possibly indicates.
In appearance, they seem to be faired over pylons. Proposed armament did
include 2 x 1600 lb bombs.

They're rather large for faired over pylons. Plus they're only on the Merlin-powered version. My thought is they're related to that. Either oil or coolant tanks.
