As a veteran of chronic knee pain and injuries, I know how you feel Murph. Hopefully the workman's comp will come through and take care of everything. Heal up and go see some airplanes

They took some x-rays (Me lying unprotected on a table under a nasty looking machine, them in a lead lined room wearing lead aprons...) and didn't find anything wrong structurally, which means whatever's wrong is in the tendons or muscles.

In these cases if an injury to muscle or ligament you will have to do a CT scan of the knee. The crap beyond the limitation of motion is pain that is usually very intense.

Saw an Orthapedic specialist today, and other than arthritis in both knees (explains the grinding noise), I might have torn cartilage in my left knee. I've gotta go back to get an MRI, and possibly surgery to repair the damage.

So I'm back to paper models as my only source of income for a bit.

If you do have to go the surgery route, the turn around from meniscal repair is generally only 6 weeks. I know that's a long time, but compared to ligament repairs, that's pretty quick. I only had crutches for a week after each of my 3 meniscus repairs. Physical therapy is super important to recovery too. Make sure you do what every they tell you to.

Got a call from my insurance company. I order to get the MRI, I need to meet the deductible of $440. Since I'm basically unemployed, and wasn't doing so well beforehand, there's no way that's gonna happen.

Time to find a job driving something smaller for now...
