Great photos! I'm jealous of the short sleeves and cutoffs.

Thanks for posting, definitely a great reason to make the trip to the museum.
Especially when they get some of the backroom stuff restored. They should make you chief of public relations/promotions. Jeff |

Any pix with NACA markings? Certainly possible, since the aircraft arrived at the High Speed Flight Station in November 1957. Only pix I found had the NASA tailband. Les |

This is the only drawing in NACA colors I found, the others have the NASA band
I had to screen shot the image, as the original is no longer available when following the link trail

Thanks for posting those pictures Aaron.Very cool museum,I'm sure I could spend a couple of days there.
Naked Chipmunk is actually PT-26 Cornell,a development of PT-19.We have one or two in CHW Hamilton.Chipmunk is a hair smaller, much smoother airplane and mostly alu unlike both PTs. I don't think I ever heard of YC-125 Raider. This has to be one of the very, very few tri motors build in US.On other thought if Antonov decided to make AN-2 into monoplane I bet it would look much like this except maybe with two engines. Lockheed Lodestar was very smooth aircraft.A lot of them are still around and some are airworthy. How is it different from Super Electra? Baka two seater reminded me of cartoons with terrorist instructor saying "ok,pay attention,I'm going to show you this only once". |
