Dinah Might is back
Yesterday, May 20, 2011 in the french press. (Le Parisien-Aujourd'hui en France)
The American bomber renovated from Utah Beach Early this morning, a special convoy of four tractor-trailers had to leave the workshop of the Museum of Air and Space at Le Bourget in the direction of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (Manche). He carries a spare part in B 26 Marauder, one of five U.S. bombers survived the Second World War, the museum has acquired the Le Bourget in 1994, fully restored for 4 years (click on the picture of the b26 - there are others links inside : renovation/restoration pictures (click inside again), 360° cockpit etc) and on loan until the end of the year And even beyond, the Landing Museum of Utah Beach. This B 26, named Dinah Might (394th BG 586th BS), carries a great story. That of the lieutenant governor of Texas, David Dewhurst Jr. and his brother Gene, who discovered during a visit to Utah Beach June 6, 2007 the glorious past of their father David Dewhurst, a bomber pilot who died in 1947. Since the brothers helped the museum to expand, upgrade Normandy to host the B26 and have financed his trip from Le Bourget. How to fly the B26 airplane In UK : Utah Beach: a B26 bomber returns And if you can not resist... build your own ! http://www.hoxity.de/papercraft/marauder_main.html Have a nice WE Faithfully Valmy Last edited by valmy33; 05-21-2011 at 12:25 AM. |

Hello Whulsey,
It's great ! It is important to keep these planes are part of our heritage. Obviously, there is not much in a state of submission and flight. In this particular case, I wanted to share the restoration of B26 and 360-degree views from the cockpit. If someone wants to make a detailed model, it is always useful. Cordially Valmy |
