Smile USAF Museum, Dayton, Ohio

Folks

I have justed completed a two hour recce of the USAF Museum: I am there all day tomorrow and possibly the day after...if anyone has any requests of things they would like happy-snappies of, please let me know in this thread. I make no promises at all to my ability to take clear uncluttered photos, I may forget entirely, fall asleep in one of the movies or flick the camera memory card off a window sill like I did the other day...

I will upload all my images up into Photobucket anyway and post the links here but that probably won't be til I get home in a few weeks...

Simon

Thanks, Don

I have been very lucky with my historical engagement this trip (apart from not getting to the Heritage Days!!) as my host in Philly over the weekend took me across to the New Jersey and on the Sunday I got to explore the Olympia which sits opposite New Jersey on the Philly side of the Delaware. Both fascinating ships with a ton of history...almost the first of the first and the last of the last...

I will post up my pics from both when I get a moment - I'm on foot here and the walk to/from the museum has frazzled me a little so I need to rehydrate and have a little nap I think...

I was there earlier this year. Make sure you see the X-planes and Presidentail planes in the off site hangers. Lots of cool stuff over there.

Smile we could have met

You are less than an hour from me. Would have been nice to meet a fellow paper modeler

Have fun

Make sure to go thru the annex. They have interesting planes there too. It is a bit of a pain since you have to go thru some BS before hand and they only give you 35 minutes. But it is worth while.

Cheers

Isaac

The MiG-15 flown by North Korean defector No Kum Suk, please. I met him when he was here to visit his daughter, one of my wife's friends.

Excellent, will be looking forward to any and all. Iits been about 20 years since I've been there so imagine a lot of changes.

I spend my day down at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, so when I get them all ready to go will be posting a link.

Simon,

You were in Philly, and I didn't know about it?

If you had the time(maybe next), you should check out the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center in West Chester.

On a good day i can get to it in about 30-40 minutes
