Thanks Texman for mentioning this - The date is sneaking up on us - October 22. Last year I was all sest to come - models packed in a suitcase, airticket in hand, and about to call a taxi, when I had to make a little diversion to grapple with the cholera epidemic in Haiti. that effort lasted until the end of January. Really hope to make it this time. Anyone else planning to be there? Cheers, Rob Tauxe

Lil and I will be there and looking forward to seeing old friends.
I anticipate that Karl K (Bloody Knife) Warner from the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center will make his premier appearance with an armload of small armored fighting vehicles. Along with Boose, Perry, Stephens, Benson, and Steffers: the Delaware Valley and Central Pennsylvania Paper Model Building and Belgian Beer Drinking Society. Will there be an in-person appearance of the Texas Flyboy? Don |

Peter Ansoff has just sent out the message with info on this year's convention, which I take the liberty of posting here.
Dear fellow paper modeler, The 14th International Paper Modelers' Convention will be held on 21-23 October 2011. The tentative schedule is attached. The location is the same as last year: Hampton Inn & Suites Dulles 22700 Holiday Park Drive Sterling, VA 20166 Phone: 703.896.7509 Fax: 703.896.7510 www.hamptonsuitesdullesairport.com/ The hotel is offering a special rate of $79 for attendees. Mention the International Paper Modelers' Convention when you make your reservation. Because we are so late getting the details out, we will not have a separate "early bird" registration rate this year. The registration costs are: Friday Evening Icebreaker Buffet: $30 per person Saturday Evening Dinner: $50 per person Display Table Rental: $60 (full table) $30 (half table) The standard "package" (both meals and one table) is thus $140. Checks for registration fees should be made out to me (Peter Ansoff) and mailed to: Peter Ansoff 7706 Bristow Drive Annandale, Virginia 22003-5146 You can also pay me when you arrive. If you plan to do this, however, please let me know by email which meals you will be partaking of and/or how many full and half tables you wish to rent. Note: the automatic payment button on the IPMC web site does not currently work -- we will try to get it working, but you probably should not count on it. Again, there's no problem with paying at the door, but we need your reservation in advance so that we can have the tables set up and notify the hotel of the meal totals. I personally apologize for the delay in getting this information out to everyone. We are "go" for IPMC 2011, and I look forward to seeing everyone next month. I'm sending this to everyone who has registered for an IPMC since 2003, plus a few additional persons who have expressed interest. Please forward it to anyone else who might be interested. Score, Fold and Glue, Peter Ansoff IPMC 2011 14th Annual Hampton Inn & Suites, Sterling, Virginia, 21-23 October 2011 Friday 21 October 5-7 PM: Registration Washington Monument Room 5-10 PM: Set up Exhibits Wash. Hey Don,
Thanks for the post. I was wondering what was goin on. I am planning to be there, however it won't be until early Saturday Morning and will have to leave Saturday evening. Unfortunately Mary will not be able to come as She is scheduled for surgery Tuesday following the convention. She decided it would be to much for her to come. It's my understanding Chip is reserving a table for me. If there is any problem please let me know. My e-mail is as follows: EMAIL REMOVED TO HELP PREVENT SPAMBOT HARVESTING Looking forward to it again and wish I wasn't so rushed and had more time to spend there. Is there anyone else I should notify? I have Peter's address but not his e-mail. Bob

Won't be able to make it. Will hope if a date is confirmed for the 2012 show that it will be promptly posted. At my work we have to bid on our vacations for the next year in November and then its pretty hard to change them so need to know stuff like this ASAP which can be a PITA when trying to make long range plans. I would really like to make it someday and haven't been on the east coast in many years.
